270 sq. ft. loft rentals will be renting for 750/month once the Burns Block building is renovated in March 2011. The open spaces have innovative features for their tight quarters such as murphy beds that have dining tables swing out when the bed is folded up. The bathroom has urinals within the shower. This in a neighborhood where pissing on the street is common place.  This comes weeks after the woodwards W once again shines high above the east hastings drag and on the same day Vancouver is considered the most unaffordable city in the world. Revitalization, gentrification, call it what you will, but it will be nice to see East Hastings have a cleaner, friendlier facade than what we’ve seen in the past 20 odd years.
